Thanks for sharing your journey with us bro. .you are an inspiration asante!

“Those who seek beauty are really in search of truth.” There is no pretense in walking the world. The physical terrains and chakratic arteries of the planet taking their tolls on even the most capricious of idealists. The shaman is his own sickness and healer, the good road his trusted and benevolent master, the path his ultimate patient, the journey his eventual medicine.

Show me the Money!

Monday, August 9th, 2010

What if Africa had its own unified currency like the Euro? Well In 2002, Mansour Ciss and Baruch Gottlieb (pictured below) created a “prototype” currency, called the AFRO, which they presented at the Dakar Biennale of Contemporary African Art on May 10, 2002.

They call the project the DeBerlinisation for more info click HERE

The current exchange rate you may ask?
1 Afro=310 Euro

I recently got hold of this, rare numbered full set cash money!

Banksy in Timbuktu,Mali.

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Banksy (whom we Adore) is a British street graffiti artist with an international reputation of producing thought provoking master pieces. He is believed to be a native of Yate, South Gloucestershire, near Bristol..but his identity is a well guarded secret.

Banksy’s stencils feature striking and humorous images occasionally combined with slogans. The message is usually anti-war, anti-capitalist or anti-establishment. Subjects include rats, monkeys, policemen, soldiers, children, and the elderly

This summer Banksy opened his biggest show ever, in his hometown of Bristol, England; over at the Bristol City Museum on June 13th. Now if you are lucky enough and happen to reside in those parts you should definitely make date with Banky’s work . I can only revel via his website for now, interestingly tho that’s where we found some amazing images…. from the flicks we jacked from his website.. it appears that Bansky managed to sneak a trip to Bamako, Mali and adorned the ancient walls of Timbuktu with some gifts.

Here are pics via his website.

Artist-Esther Mahlangu

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Esther Mahlangu is a world-renowned South African artist who celebrates her Ndebele culture and tradition in various styles and media. Get to know her work…i am anticipating to see more of her work spot lighted with the upcoming World Cup in 2010 being held South Africa.

Exposure- to new materials, different techniques and to the collecting artworld - has brought about new reasoning behind her work. In 1991, she was invited to paint a prototype of the new BMW 525i model.

Esther’s car, eleventh in the Art Car Collection, was the first to be decorated by a woman artist and as a black woman artist from a little-known South African community to be included in a prestigious international artistic line-up of artists including Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and David Hockney made this fact all the more exceptional.
